The best umbrella is always the one you have with you! Its minimal weight makes it the ideal companion that you always have with you in case of emergencies. Short distances, e.g. across the crossroads or from the underground to the shopping centre, can be easily covered.
Compared to the BGG Da Vinci Folding Umbrella, the 99g Air weighs less than half as much and is 6cm shorter when folded, but its canopy is 24cm narrower. If you’re travelling to Asia during the rainy season or planning longer walks in the rain, the Da Vinci, with its 110cm wingspan, is the more sensible companion. For an emergency umbrella that disappears into any bag, the 99g Air is the better pick. The loop on the carrying handle is practical e.g. for clipping the umbrella to a rucksack with a carabiner.
When travelling to Asia during the rainy season or for longer walks with a rucksack, it is advisable to take a larger umbrella instead of this minimal version.
