Icebreaker is producing their tees with two different materials: Cool-Lite or Tech Lite. Tech Lite is 100% merino wool, while Cool-Lite is a blend of 60% lyocell and 40% merino. However, both materials are 100% natural and have both the similar properties like being moisture wicking, breathable and odour resistant.

Compared to Cool-Lite the Tech Lite 100% merino tees have these benefits:

• Softer and more cosy feel, than Cool-Lite
• More warming
• A mono material, like 100% merino wool, is easier to recycle and more natural

Compared to Tech Lite, Cool-Lite has the following advantages:

• No or lesser itching, in case you are sensible with merino wool
• More comfortable to wear in hot and humid climate
• Cooling and airy feel

Our verdict: When mainly travelling to hot and humid areas, or, when you are sensible with merino wool, we recommend the Cool-Lite material. If that is not relevant, Tech Lite with 100% merino wool is the more natural and cosy choice.
